Hi, I\’d be interested in any more background information you could provide as to the reason for the shift?  Notes version currently in use, expected cost savings etc.

    Hi Carl

Sorry.. that i have been so long time of discovering you comment and finally taken the time to answer..

We are today using ver. 6.5 and 7.0

    Reasons for changing:

    1.       We where already paying for the exchange and SharePoint licenses through our Microsoft agreement
    2.       Standardization – We get a more homogenous environment
    3.       Integration – Even though Lotus has come a VERY long way with their ver. 8 products the deep native integration and synergies across the Microsoft platform is an important factor.
    4.       Microsoft has a very mature UC strategy and products.
    5.       We expect the save money on licenses in the long run. (We need to get the functionality of our Databases restored in something else (SAP/SAP Portal or SharePoint)
    6.       We had to change our notes setup dramatically so the difference from switching from Notes 6.6/7 to ver. 8 and so on.. to switching to exchange and SharePoint wasn’t that big.
    7.       Much easier to get Microsoft resources (staff/vendors/partners) than IBM resources. (especially here in Denmark)

That was some of the reasons..

    /Alex
